B3 releases comprehensive produced water platform for Louisiana
(WO) — B3 Insight released of a first-of-its-kind produced water data platform for Louisiana. This platform includes fresh and produced water data, injection and land data, and Louisiana-specific layers such as reserve pits, offshore blocks and wildlife management areas.
It is now available through B3’s OilfieldH2O Platform, complementing existing products for Texas, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Wyoming. B3’s OilfieldH2O Louisiana offering enables users to visualize and understand the entire journey of produced water from production to disposal.
“This new release features our proprietary, unified data model and provides users with powerful tools for oilfield water management,” stated Kelly Bennett, CEO of B3 Insight. “B3’s new Louisiana Platform will allow operators and midstream service providers to make more informed decisions and optimize their water management, reducing costs and environmental risk while improving efficiencies.”
Louisiana’s unique physical landscape and digital data access methods present a complex challenge for managing oilfield water, making it essential to have comprehensive and reliable data. B3’s newly released platform addresses this challenge by integrating disparate data sources to create an extensive database linking water, land, and infrastructure that enables users to optimize their water logistics and reduce costs.
The Louisiana Platform includes over 10,000 injection wells, complete with injection volume and pressure history, that users can filter by type of injection, status, operator, and more. The platform also features a complete freshwater well dataset of over 200,000 wells, sortable by aquifer, well use, status, and more.
In addition, the Louisiana Platform includes over 2.5 million land parcel records - challenging to find and compile, as well as a comprehensive production site dataset with historical produced water delivery records that report the volume of water delivered from production sites to disposal wells, combined with B3’s trucking assessments, routing, and emissions calculations.
