CohnReznick adds Houston-based HL&B to expand energy advisory services
(WO) — CohnReznick has acquired Houston-based Ham, Langston & Brezina L.L.P. (HL&B), expanding the firm's Texas presence and strengthening its advisory, tax and assurance capabilities for the energy sector.
The transaction, effective July 1, adds HL&B's three Houston-area offices, 12 partners and 87 employees to CohnReznick's operations.
HL&B serves clients in energy, financial services, construction, nonprofit organizations and employee benefit plans. CohnReznick said the combination expands its capabilities in Houston while complementing its existing Texas operations in Dallas, Austin and Houston.
"By combining our local relationships with CohnReznick's national platform, we will be better positioned to help clients navigate increasingly complex business environments," said Rob Brezina, managing partner of HL&B.
According to CohnReznick, the acquisition supports its broader expansion strategy and follows recent office openings in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Tampa, Denver, Tallahassee and Richmond.
David Kessler, CEO of CohnReznick Advisory LLC, said the acquisition strengthens the firm's capabilities in energy, financial services and real estate while expanding its presence in the Houston market.
