Predictive models to identify high-pressure, high-temperature zones in the Gulf of Mexico
The presentation will cover predictive models developed for determining high pressure and high temperature zones for the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). Pressure data was evaluated for wells drilled in water depth less than 1,000 feet and greater than 1,000 feet. Temperature data was evaluated for several water depths, as the relationship between water depth and temperature, and formation depth and temperature, are inverse. Predictive models were developed using statistical tools to determine pressure and temperatures at various formation depths in the GOM. Based on these models, high pressure and high temperature zones in GOM can be identified.
