This third annual issue of World Oil and Pipe Line & Gas
Industry's supplemental report continues to follow industry's technology developments necessary to
physically and economically meet the challenges faced in developing ever-deeper waters in the U.S. Gulf,
Brazil, Africa and several other world areas. A prevailing theme is the need for operators, the service
sector and regulators to work together through JIPs and other consortiums to share R&D costs and
rewards. The 11 features listed below cover new developments in drilling, mooring, pipelines, flow
assurance, Brazil's deepwater Roncador field and DeepStar's successes, plus the need for FPSOs in the Gulf
of Mexico. |
