Mermaid Marine secures $98.4 mn accommodation vessel contract

SYDNEY, Australia -- Mermaid Marine Australia Limited (MMA) has been awarded a contract for the operation and management of the accommodation vessel Silja Europa.

The contract will generate revenue of approximately $98.4 million (A$105 million) over the 12-month term and there is an option for the client to extend the contract.

The Silja Europa is a 202 m cruise ferry which, until recently, has been operating as a leisure cruiser between Finland and Estonia. The vessel has been specifically modified for this contract and will accommodate up to 1,400 workers, including locally hired crew.
