Katalyst Data Management opens new iGlass geotechnical support center

PERTH, Western Australia -- Katalyst Data Management has opened a new full service iGlass datacenter in Perth, to support oil and gas companies throughout the Asia-Pacific region with their operational and exploration programs.  The new geotechnical hub is a vote of confidence that strong levels of oil and gas activity throughout the region will create a growing need for a comprehensive solution for subsurface data management.

iGlass is Katalyst’s signature hosted technology solution that provides a complete set of tools for the full life-cycle of subsurface data management. The new center incorporates a web-based ESRI GIS map interface for direct access by clients to all their digital seismic, well and interpretation data.

Scalable to any level on a global basis, iGlass allows companies to manage these subsurface assets consistently across geographically dispersed locations. They can locate seismic trace data near their regional business unit, while still maintaining a central administration to ensure all locations are being managed according to their global process framework.

“Expanding our signature iGlass solution into the Asia-Pacific region is crucial to being a global service provider for subsurface data management,” stated President and CEO Steve Darnell.  “Even in this difficult business environment, we are backing a strong future for the oil and gas industry by investing in Asia-Pacific. We are taking the long-term view that this is good for our customers and Katalyst."
