Schlumberger's Hexacom launches The Oilfield Marketplace
HOUSTON -- Hexacom, a division of Schlumberger Technology Corporation, today launched The Oilfield Marketplace, an e-commerce platform that connects oil and gas industry professionals with the products, services and information they need to optimize their assets. The Oilfield Marketplace provides a seamless online experience that makes ordering oilfield products as easy as ordering a book.
The initial release is for customers in the United States and includes hundreds of products that can be purchased with a credit card. The Oilfield Marketplace launches with several Schlumberger drilling, completions, and solids control products, including brands such as DRILCO, DYNA-DRILL, M-I SWACO, and Smith Bits.
The Oilfield Marketplace is Hexacom’s inaugural venture and marks its first step toward providing oilfield professionals a digital platform to help them get their jobs done in a more efficient and cost-effective manner. Customers can use the e-commerce platform to rapidly identify the solutions that meet their need for efficient transactions and swift fulfillment.
Subsequent development of The Oilfield Marketplace will expand the product and service offering and include additional payment options. This e-commerce platform will also provide an enhanced user experience to help customers find the solutions—products, services and information—they need.
“This marketplace gives digital purchasing power to customers both in town and in the field, while simultaneously freeing up our salesforce to engage with customers on their technical challenges,” states Chad Harkness, director of sales and commercial, Schlumberger.
Oilfield professionals can now order products and services quickly wherever they are located. In addition, customers will benefit from a more efficient sales channel that enables competitive pricing that helps to lower the cost per barrel.
