Ikon Science donates geoscience software to Mexico's ITPE
MERIDA -- Ikon Science, the leader in geoprediction technology, has donated 12 of its RokDoc geoscience software licenses to the ITPE - Instituto Tecnológico del Petróleo y Energía in Merida, Mexico.
The institute's 66 students who are enrolled in the engineering undergraduate programs will now have access to the latest software technology in the areas of rock physics, reservoir characterization, seismic inversion, and pressure prediction.
Adrien Caudron, ITPE'S general director, commented that he is "delighted to be getting access to industry leading technology to assist the students in their learning and research."
Professor Victor Garduza commented ‘Ikon RokDoc is instrumental for building a comprehensive reservoir static models, by combining rock physics parameters and petrophysical characteristics of the reservoir formations with seismic information, and resulting in 3D distributions of porosity, permeability and many other rock and fluid properties.
Ikon Science works with geoscience institutes all around the world. Providing RokDoc software allows students access to tools for their learning and research and subsequently getting them to be familiar with the software technologies they will likely be using when they enter the workplace."
