Serica Energy adopts Restrata for real-time safety monitoring in the North Sea
ABERDEEN - Serica Energy has signed a deal to adopt the Restrata Platform, a system for real-time monitoring of people and assets around the world. The contract will see Serica Energy roll out the Restrata Platform on its Bruce asset in the UK Northern North Sea.
Restrata, a technology and services company focused on security, safety and emergency response solutions, has developed the Restrata Software Platform to enhance personnel safety and wider operations. The technology behind the product reflects the heart of both companies’ modernizing approach.
Restrata has been providing emergency response support to Serica Energy over the past year and this new deal reinforces the relationship between the two firms.
Serica Energy CEO Mitch Flegg said, “Paramount in all that we do is Serica’s respect for the safety and wellbeing of our crew when they are offshore, so we are delighted to harness the positive power of the new technology in the Restrata Platform product to further enhance the efficiency of our safety in operation.”
“Our team will work with Restrata to commence the roll out of the technology and integrate our operating procedures, specific to Bruce. This collaboration is absolutely in step with Serica’s vision of using technology to help our team to work smarter, and be safer.”
The Restrata Platform will allow operators to safeguard the operational safety of their employees and to quickly locate them in an emergency situation, thus providing a more efficient response and helping companies across the energy and industrial sectors improve the safety of its personnel, giving clients complete control and peace of mind.
Restrata CEO Botan Osman said, “We have been providing outsourced emergency response in North Sea for the past eight years. We firmly believe in the digital transformation of safety, and the Restrata Platform enables to deliver this transformation to energy firms around the world. We are proud that Serica Energy, who have been a client over the past year, will be the first to adopt the Restrata Platform. The North Sea was the birthplace of a new era of safety standards, and we now want to make it the leader of digital safety.”
“The Restrata Platform will enable the Serica Energy team to quickly access real time information about their personnel on board, as well as its assets, assuring their safety and providing operational efficiencies.”
“The Restrata Platform will protect not only the people involved in an incident, but also ensures the risk to emergency response teams is minimized. The technology allows the support and efficient management of an incident with information being shared real-time, meaning onshore teams can act fast for early intervention – with the safety of personnel at the heart of any response.”
“This announcement is a key step forward for us as a company and our market leading services, and we are delighted to partner with Serica Energy. As the first company to sign up to the Restrata Platform in the North Sea they have already added value to the continued enhancement of the technology. We want to ensure that it’s the digital standard for the North Sea and rest of world, ensuring no company accepts anything less to safeguard its people and assets.”
Restrata’s Global Command Centre based in Aberdeen, launched in 2011 with its new center opening in 2017, will also host the technology, enabling Restrata’s full range of support services to be available to Platform clients during an incident.
