Newfoundland and Labrador Oil and Gas Industries Association remembers Flight 491

ST. JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND - Twelve years ago on Friday, March 12th, the Canadian province of Newfoundland & Labrador experienced the tragic loss of 17 people when Flight 491 crashed in the waters off the coast. Today, the Newfoundland and Labrador Oil and Gas Industries Association remembers those individuals, their family and friends, as well as the lone survivor of the crash.

“Flight 491 serves as a constant reminder of the challenging conditions and harsh environment the men and women working in the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore oil and gas industry face. As we honor the memory of those who were on Flight 491, safety must remain paramount for our industry.
