Global energy consultancy creates emissions reduction roadmap for Middle East operator
(WO) — Global energy consultancy Xodus has identified over 25 energy and emissions reduction opportunities for an undisclosed operator’s drilling rig fleet in the Middle East. These findings occurred following a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions baseline and energy efficiency review.
The opportunities represent a roadmap for a 60% reduction in total CO2 emissions for the operator. The review also outlined ways to cut costs by up to $28 million a year. The scope of work will focus on four key elements: a boundary, reporting and legislation review, an emissions baseline assessment, offshore site visits and opportunity identification as well as an emissions reduction roadmap development.
According Natasha Howlett, Emissions & Climate Division Manager at Xodus, the company utilized its Digital Emissions Reduction Action Plan to create the roadmap. The digital solution can rank and prioritize emissions reduction opportunities using intuitive technologies.
