ExxonMobil appoints new shale SVP on heels of Pioneer megadeal
(Bloomberg) – Exxon Mobil Corp. named Bart Cahir as Senior Vice President of its shale division, replacing David Scott, who was arrested in Texas earlier this month and accused of sexual assault.
Cahir takes the role just weeks after Exxon agreed to buy Pioneer Natural Resources Co. for $60 billion in stock, a deal that will make the Texas oil giant the largest producer in the Permian, the world’s largest shale basin. He will begin Nov. 1, Exxon said by email.
Cahir previously ran the shale division from 2020 to 2022 and was most recently Exxon’s president for global business solutions, which oversees financial services and procurement.
