Energy Workforce and Technology Council expands engagement with new communications director
(WO) – The Energy Workforce and Technology Council announced the hire of Karina Erickson as Communications Director. Karina will lead communications efforts and media relations for the Council, working to expand engagement as the organization celebrates 90 years of being “in its element,” building on the foundations of the past while trailblazing the future of energy.
Previously, Karina served as Communications Director for Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush and the Texas General Land Office, covering a vast portfolio including the management of state lands and asset management (oil, gas, alternative energies, and natural resources). Prior to joining Commissioner Bush's team, she served as Communications Director for U.S. Congressman Ted Poe (R-TX) in Washington, D.C.
Karina also brings extensive experience in strategic communications, message development, and campaign execution from her time at a Texas-based public affairs firm, on the campaign trail for state and local elected officials, on Facebook's government and politics team, and in the Texas Legislature. She holds a master’s degree in political management from The George Washington University.
