New Neo-Oiltools CEO brings deep oil and gas drilling expertise from Baker Hughes, Weatherford, SLB
(WO) – Neo-Oiltools, a creator of drilling performance tools for the oil and gas industry, announced the appointment of Robert Borne as Chief Executive Officer.
Borne brings more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector along with a proven track record of leadership and success. He has built an extensive base of knowledge of the drilling industry through roles spanning engineering, operations, sales, business development and digital transformation.
Most recently, Borne served as Baker Hughes’ Executive Director for North America Wireline Services, where he led more than 200 people in 16 locations and generated significant revenue across the North American portfolio.
Prior to that role, he was Weatherford’s Global Director of Digital Transformation and New Energy Solutions, leading the organization’s innovation efforts to help clients in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas achieve success amid a new era of energy transition.
Borne came to Weatherford from MBI Energy Services, a private equity-backed company, where he directly oversaw $100 million in total annual revenue delivered from three operational product lines as Senior Vice President and Executive Officer.
Before joining MBI Energy Services he spent 13 years at Schlumberger, rising to Regional General Manager and leader of the wireline segment as he increased the business’ geographic scope.
Neo-Oiltools Chairman of the Board, Pascal Bartette, hailed the new hire, saying, “We’re very pleased to announce Robert as our new Chief Executive Officer. His deep experience and market knowledge make him well-positioned to lead the company through the next phase of growth. He brings an impressive track record of driving success for oil and gas businesses in terms of both revenue growth and geographic expansion.
“And it comes at a time when Neo Oiltools is uniquely positioned to support clients with a range of technologically advanced drilling enhancements that help increase efficiency while mitigating risks. I’m excited to see what he’ll accomplish together with our team.”
Borne noted, “I’m excited to join Neo-Oiltools at a momentous time for the drilling industry, and I see incredible potential for further expanding our market share. The ability of our cable-design vibration suppression system (VSS) tool, NeoTork, to significantly reduce multiple types of drilling dysfunctions while substantially increasing drilling efficiency enables operators and drillers to reduce costs and downtime. This offering stands as a powerful competitive differentiator that can drive continued success for the company and our customers alike.”
