SUARDIAZ presents new subsea vessel to operate in North Sea under Fugro charter
SUARDIAZ Group, through its SUARDIAZ Energy division, has successfully christened its new ship, RS Alegranza, at the Astander shipyard in Cantabria. This event marks an important milestone in the transformation process of the ship, one that has been designed to respond to the demand for offshore services.
Managers from Fugro, a leading global Geo-data company and the vessel’s future charterer, along with representatives from Suardiaz and Astander attended the Naming Ceremony.
All those who were there witnessed the traditional christening of the ship with a bottle of champagne smashed against the hull by godmother Saskia Maria ten Hoope, as a sign of good luck as it sails. Now that the event is over, it will undergo harbor acceptance tests and sea acceptance tests to ensure it complies with the highest standards for offshore dynamic positioning (IMCA), undergoing DP FMEA 2 and station keeping tests, before beginning to operate in the North Sea.
