Centrium Energy Solutions established to reshore oilfield chemical supply

February 21, 2025

Centrium Energy Solutions™, a newly launched oil & gas chemical supplier, is aiming to reduce supply chain risks and improve the reliability of upstream and midstream products with a domestic distribution model that solves critical challenges in sourcing, logistics and performance.

Oilfield service providers struggle with service gaps, inconsistent supply and the need to reshore chemical sourcing due to global disruptions and potential tariffs. Centrium Energy Solutions provides domestically sourced raw materials and technical expertise to optimize operations, lower total costs and provide reliable chemical access.

Centrium Energy Solutions aims to improve chemical supply chain inefficiencies by focusing on two key areas: reducing total chemical costs and closing service gaps.

“Many companies don’t realize the hidden costs associated with managing surplus inventory, dealing with off-spec products or navigating unreliable delivery schedules,” said Jonathan Rogers, General Manager of Centrium Energy Solutions. “Centrium’s approach eliminates these inefficiencies, ensuring oilfield service providers can deliver high-quality products that optimize production and maintain asset integrity without unnecessary disruptions.”

The shift to domestic oilfield chemical sourcing

As the chemical industry contends with global supply chain challenges, more companies are reevaluating their reliance on overseas suppliers.

“Reshoring is more than a response to tariffs or geopolitical uncertainties; it’s about building a resilient and responsive supply chain right here in the USA,” added Rogers. “By sourcing locally, we’re able to provide our customers with faster delivery, consistent quality and lower total chemical costs.”

A proven chemical distribution model

Centrium Energy Solutions' business model prioritizes service innovation rather than focusing solely on product delivery. Centrium's customer-first approach has had proven success through its parent company, Cathedral Holdings. The debt-free specialty chemical distributor has 28 years of industry experience and extensive resources—including eight U.S. distribution centers and 100% employee ownership. The strong backing equips Centrium Energy Solutions with the infrastructure and expertise needed to transform oilfield chemical distribution.

“Centrium was able to build upon the foundation that Cathedral Holdings has used for nearly three decades. Our sister companies, IndSpyre Solutions and Essential Ingredients have demonstrated the impactful results of this chemical distribution model in the industrial and personal care markets. Now, we’re bringing the same high-impact approach to the oil and gas industry,” said Rogers.
