Chariot Oil & Gas commences 2D seismic survey off Namibia
LONDON -- Chariot Oil & Gas has commenced a 2D seismic survey of approximately 1,700 km in Central Blocks 2312 and 2412A offshore Namibia.
Chariot and its partners—AziNam (20%), NAMCOR (10%) and Ignitus (5%)—have agreed to initially carry out a 2D survey, which will infill an existing grid of data in order to gain a better understanding of the regional prospectivity of this large license area (which covers approximately 16,800 km2).
This will enable the company to optimize the design of the location and size of the 3D seismic program required as a commitment during this current phase of exploration.
The survey is anticipated to take approximately two weeks to acquire and is being conducted by SeaBird Exploration.
