Maersk Oil Danish Business Unit to simplify its organization

ESBJERG, Denmark -- Maersk Oil Danish Business Unit (DBU) has announced that it will simplify its organization to improve efficiency and ensure delivery of Maersk Oil’s three pillar strategy.

For Maersk Oil DBU the new organization will provide the foundation for a more cost-efficient operating model, and will position Maersk Oil DBU to safely and efficiently maximize production, and ensure future investments that will help realize the full potential of the Danish North Sea.

The reorganization will run during the coming months. A first phase to reconfigure the onshore organization will be completed during the first quarter of 2017. As part of the first phase Maersk Oil DBU plan to consolidate all employees of the Danish Business Unit at its Esbjerg office, and Maersk Oil DBU is expected to be reduced by up to 160 positions. This is subject to statutory consultation and local labor law.
