Danos completes offshore facility turnaround in Equatorial Guinea

GRAY, Louisiana -- Danos has successfully completed a turnaround comprising four client offshore facilities in Equatorial Guinea. Though estimated to require 10 days of downtime, Danos completed the work ahead of schedule, with production resuming after only seven days.

The project required approximately 70 skilled craftsmen who were mobilized from 10 different cities and then transported to West Africa, plus a crew of workers from the Philippines with specialized expertise in British Standard Scaffolding. In total, Danos logged more than 45,000 man-hours preparing for and then executing the turnaround in sequence at the four facilities.

The scope of the turnaround included 82 work packages, ranging from simple tasks like valve swaps to complex assignments such as cooler replacements. All material and equipment were mobilized from Danos’ Amelia Integrated Services Complex, where it was transported first to Houston and then to the Port of Bata in Equatorial Guinea. Project controls, coordination and overall management was executed from the company’s headquarters in Gray.

Danos has been working in West Africa since 1992, supporting maintenance needs and shut-in projects for on- and offshore facilities. The company also offers project management, construction, automation, scaffolding, fabrication and operations support services to clients in the area.
