Gates has launched flexible hoses for land, offshore well-control applications

DENVER -- Gates, global provider of application-specific fluid power and power transmission solutions, introduces a new addition to its portfolio of oil and gas well-control products, the 3” ID x 10,000 PSI Black Gold 10k Choke and Kill Hose. Designed and tested to meet the rigorous American Petroleum Institute (API) 16C design criteria for gas exposure, high temperature and sustained exposure to fire, this new, premium application well-control hose can be used for upstream choke and kill applications. This new product is now available to Gates Black Gold distributors and oil and gas upstream drilling rig owners and operators.

Gates leveraged the technology and expertise that came with its acquisition of Techflow, along with the company’s materials science and process engineering capabilities to develop this product. Requiring shorter lead times to manufacture and deliver, measured in days instead of weeks, the Black Gold 10k Choke and Kill Hose not only has shorter lead times, but is also readily configured to meet customer-specific application requirements, such as size and end connection type.
