Cranium Engineering deploys C-Kore Cable Monitor Units in Africa for first time
LONDON -- C-Kore systems recently completed their first deployment with VAYCO Oil Tools and local Nigerian partner Cranium Engineering on an asset integrity verification operation for a major oil operator off the coast of Nigeria. The C-Kore units saved vessel time and deferment on the deployment, proving the integrity of the entire network from a single location.
C-Kore’s Cable Monitor Units are used on asset integrity and installation operations to test subsea umbilicals’ electrical line health, including insulation resistance and continuity measurement. With C-Kore’s new Subsea TDR units, any faults discovered can also be localized and categorized.
Sola Adekunle, CEO of Cranium Engineering said, “Our first C-Kore deployment in deep water Nigeria is in line with our mission to provide technology driven, cost-saving, safe and effective solutions across Africa. Our customer was extremely pleased with how the C-Kore units worked. Traditional testing equipment would have been time consuming and much more tedious. The C-Kore units saved a lot of testing time and were very easy to use.”
Greg Smith, general manager of C-Kore Systems commented, “We are excited to work with VAYCO and Cranium Engineering to introduce our technology into this new region. It is very satisfying to get such great reviews from a new customer, highlighting our design philosophy of simplifying subsea testing.”
