ABERDEN - Subsea UK, the International Association of Drilling Contractors Brazil chapter and Subsea World Brazil magazine have worked in partnership to develop the Subsea & Drilling Brazil conference. The first of its kind event focusing solely on the subsea and drilling industries in Brazil is set to take place from 28 – 29 November in Rio de Janeiro. It will bring together global specialists from subsea and drilling to share knowledge, strategies and innovations which are coming out of the South American country.

The subsea section of the conference will focus on key topics including robotics, integrity management, decommissioning and the energy transition. The drilling section will focus on topics including well integrity, managed pressure drilling, underbalance operations and new technology for drilling rigs.

The conference will include an opportunity for networking and there will be an innovation and exhibition area. UK companies, which have key technology suitable for the Brazilian market, will have the opportunity to take part. Subsea UK, the IADC Brazil chapter and Subsea World Brazil magazine will assemble the review panel and committee for the show.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “This event will be the first of its kind to solely focus on subsea and drilling in the Brazil region and the partnership we have formed to bring it to fruition will ensure it attracts a global audience stimulating high level discussion.

“At Subsea UK we are committed to showcasing the UK subsea capabilities globally and introducing companies to new markets and opportunities. Brazil has some of the deepest water in the world so brings with it challenges for companies looking to carry out projects in the region.

“As a recognized center for subsea excellence, the UK has developed technology which could positively impact projects in this region and this event will give a unique opportunity for knowledge sharing. It will also allow companies to see what the Brazil sector is developing and how they are tackling the challenges of an aging infrastructure and life of field extension.”

The inaugural event will take place from 28 – 29 November in Rio de Janeiro. For more information visit https://www.subseauk.com/10552/subsea-drilling-brazil-conference.
