Saipem awarded two offshore contracts worth $900 million

(WO) – Saipem has won two offshore contracts for approximately $900 million. These awards include a contract in the Santos basin and a contract in the Norwegian Sea.

LAPA Southwest development project offshore Brazil

TotalEnergies awarded the first offshore contract- the LAPA Southwest (LAPA SW) development project- to Saipem and partner Aker Solutions do Brasil. LAPA SW is a deepwater oil field in the Santos Basin in the South Atlantic off the coast of São Paulo, Brazil.

According to Saipem, the scope of work encompasses the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) of Subsea Umbilicals, Risers, Flowlines (SURF) as well as a Subsea Production System (SPS).

Saipem says it will maximize the local content by using its yard Guarujá CTCO (Centro de Tecnologia e Construção Offshore) for logistics activities and Quad Joints Fabrication and some other manufacturing activities.

Irpa Pipeline project- Norwegian Sea

Equinor also awarded an offshore contract to Saipem for the Irpa pipeline project. Located in the Norwegian Sea, the project includes installing 80 km-long swagged Pipe-in-Pipe pipelines that connect the Irpa field’s subsea production template to the existing Aasta Hansteen platform.

The offshore operations are planned to take place in 2025 and will be performed by Saipem’s flagship vessel Castorone, the company reports.
