PGS offers data for farm-in opportunities in Uruguay's offshore blocks
(WO) — PGS has made available multi-client 2D and 3D data, along with Quantitative Interpretation (QI) products, to facilitate the assessment of farm-in opportunities in Uruguay.
Following the Open Uruguay Round in May 2023, production-sharing contracts for all seven offshore exploration blocks are expected to be signed soon by operators.
Potential partners can now evaluate farm-in opportunities for these blocks, with increased interest sparked by recent successes offshore Namibia. PGS's data library for Uruguay encompasses more than 15,600 sq. km of 3D seismic data and 11,500 km of 2D data. This seismic data has been used to develop QI products, enhancing the identification and derisking of exploration targets. These QI products are available as part of the multi-client data bundle.
The GeoStreamer Uruguay dataset, provided by PGS, is well-suited to offer additional insights into this underexplored region, unlocking significant prospectivity potential. This comprehensive dataset positions potential partners to make informed decisions as they explore and assess opportunities in Uruguay's offshore blocks.
