Trendsetter Engineering secures subsea contract for Woodside Energy’s Trion project offshore Mexico

(WO) – Trendsetter Engineering, Inc. announced a contract award by Woodside Energy to provide several subsea manifolds with foundations, valves and connection systems to support the Trion project offshore Mexico.  This contract award follows a detailed engineering phase kicked off in 2022 to refine critical components of the project.

Trendsetter’s scope of work includes engineering, design, manufacture, and installation support of Trendsetter’s TCS subsea connectors for both the production and gathering systems, multiple production and injection manifolds and their foundations. Trendsetter will utilize Advanced Technology Valve’s (ATV) world renowned expertise in providing subsea valves for use in the subsea production and gathering systems.  

Trendsetter first introduced its TCS OEM subsea connector and TEX gasket technology to the industry in 2013 with hundreds now in operation worldwide from 2” through 20” sizes, as well as multi‐bore, 400°F and 20,000 psi capabilities. Trendsetter is the market leader in bespoke, engineered to order subsea manifold, flowline, and distribution equipment with systems in operation for HPHT, large bore gas, and ultra‐deepwater in all major production basins.

This announcement comes on the heels of Trendsetter’s successful equipment deliveries for Woodside’s Shenzi North project. Shenzi North featured multiple manifolds with foundations, several jumpers and connection systems, and the industry’s first subsea deepwater High Integrity Pressure Protection Systems (HIPPS) to be installed in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
