Petrofac secures service agreement with Marathon Oil in Equatorial Guinea
(WO) — Petrofac has expanded its presence in Africa by securing a Master Service Agreement (MSA) with Marathon Oil to support its operations in Equatorial Guinea.
Under the agreement, Petrofac will provide technical and engineering support for key onshore and offshore assets, including five offshore steel jacket facilities in the Alba Field and the Alba Gas Plant onshore.
This new partnership builds on Petrofac’s longstanding relationship with Marathon Oil, having previously provided services for their Brae assets in the North Sea.
"We're pleased with this award, which highlights our growing reputation as a safe and efficient service provider," said Alex Macdonald, Managing Director for Asset Solutions in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. "Africa is a key region for us, and we look forward to strengthening our relationship with Marathon Oil in Equatorial Guinea."
Petrofac continues to grow its footprint in Africa, with existing operations in Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, and Mauritania. This agreement follows the recent award of a Technical Services Contract with GEPetrol, the National Oil Company of Equatorial Guinea.
