Seatrium delivers fourth jackup rig to Borr Drilling ahead of schedule
(WO) – Seatrium Limited has successfully delivered its fourth jackup rig, named "Vali," to Borr Drilling, about a year ahead of the planned delivery date. The project was completed on an accelerated schedule, highlighting Seatrium's ability to execute major projects efficiently and on budget.
The Vali is a KFELS Super B Class rig designed for operation in water depths up to 400 feet and capable of drilling to depths of 35,000 feet. It features advanced drilling capabilities, including vertical and horizontal drilling, and a cantilever structure with a maximum combined load of 3,700 kips. The rig includes a high-capacity rack and pinion jacking system and can accommodate up to 150 personnel.
This delivery marks the fourth in a series of five jackup rigs built by Seatrium for Borr Drilling. The first three rigs in this series were transferred to ADNOC Drilling and have been successfully delivered. Built at Seatrium’s Pioneer Yard in Singapore, these rigs are tailored to meet the needs of various customers, from small independent oil companies to major multinational corporations.
The KFELS B Class family of designs, which includes the Vali, is known for its robust performance and efficiency in offshore drilling operations worldwide.
“The accelerated completion of this advanced rig underscores Seatrium's commitment to innovation, quality and timely execution,” William Gu, executive vice president of Seatrium Energy (International), said. “With its state-of-the-art design and capabilities, Vali not only exemplifies our technical expertise but also enhances the efficiency and productivity of offshore drilling operations globally.”
