Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPPA) said U.S. independent oil and natural gas producers continue to play a central role in domestic energy supply and global markets, even as they navigate a challenging price environment.

“America’s independent oil and natural gas producers ushered in the shale revolution and have a proven record of delivering energy securely and competitively,” said IPAA President and CEO Edith Naegele. “America's independent producers are committed to producing the energy that powers American lives and competitiveness.”

Naegele said independent producers remain the backbone of producing communities across the U.S., supporting jobs and economic security, while emphasizing the importance of stability as companies make capital allocation decisions. “This is a challenging price environment for America’s independent producers,” she said. “No matter the basin, they desire stability as they make capital allocation decisions.”

She added that as global markets evolve and production opportunities emerge worldwide, IPAA member companies will continue to evaluate prospects to produce oil and natural gas safely and securely.
