Petrobras awards $736 million subsea vessel contracts to Oceânica
(WO) — Oceânica Engenharia has secured a series of long-term offshore service contracts with Petrobras valued at approximately $736 million (R$4.2 billion), strengthening the company’s position in Brazil’s offshore subsea services market.
The agreements, signed between December 2025 and February 2026, cover multiple subsea support vessels and will run for four years, with operations expected to begin in the first half of 2027 and continue through 2031.
Under the contracts, Petrobras renewed service agreements for the SDSV vessels Oceanicasub IV, V, VII and IX, which provide subsea inspection, maintenance and intervention services using work-class ROVs, electric ROVs and diving operations.
The Oceanicasub VI vessel was also contracted and will join the company’s subsea support fleet, expanding operational capacity. In addition, the Oceanicasub VIII vessel had its contract renewed in the remotely operated service vessel (RSV) segment.
The new agreements increase Oceânica’s order backlog to about R$12 billion, according to the company.
The contracts reinforce the long-standing relationship between Oceânica and Petrobras and ensure continued support for subsea inspection, maintenance and intervention activities across the Brazilian offshore sector.
