Condor tops 15,000 boed at Uzbekistan gas project
(WO) — Condor Energies has surpassed 15,000 boed of production at its Uzbekistan gas project following the startup of the Kumli-47 horizontal well, marking a new company production record as drilling activity accelerates across its Central Asia operations.
The company reported average production of 15,283 boed over the past 72 hours after the K-47 well was tied into production.
According to Condor, the horizontal well initially flowed at a peak rate of 18.4 MMscf/d, equivalent to approximately 3,067 boed, before being rate restricted to manage gas stream velocities. A stabilized six-hour flow test was later conducted at 14.8 MMscf/d through a ¾-inch choke with flowing tubing pressure of 1,385 psi.
K-47 was drilled to a total depth of 3,444 m in 28 days and included a 1,118-m lateral section targeting the same dolomitized carbonate reservoir encountered by the nearby K-46 well.
Condor said it took approximately 40 days from the start of drilling to first production at the well.
“With another horizontal well success at K-47, our 2026 year-to-date production has now increased by 41% despite a 20% natural decline rate of the legacy fields,” said Don Streu, president and CEO of Condor Energies.
The company has since moved its first drilling rig to the Kumli NW Pad 1 location, where it plans to drill the K-42 vertical appraisal well to further evaluate the reservoir. Condor said it expects the well to reach total depth in June and plans to follow with up to four additional horizontal wells from the pad.
A second drilling rig is also being mobilized to the area to support additional production growth later this year.
Streu also pointed to growing international interest in Uzbekistan’s upstream sector, noting that bp recently acquired a 40% interest in a separate production sharing agreement covering exploration acreage in northern Uzbekistan.
Condor said the development reinforces its strategy of establishing an early operational position within the country’s emerging upstream market.
