CNOOC starts production at Panyu 11-5 oil field in South China Sea

HONG KONG -- CNOOC’s Panyu 11-5 oil field has started production, the company said in a statement.

The field is in the Pearl River Mouth basin of the South China Sea and has an average water depth of approximately 110 m.

In addition to fully utilizing the existing facilities of Panyu 5-1 oil field, three horizontal wells were drilled in Panyu 11-5.

One well is currently on production, producing approximately 3,270 bopd. The field is expected to reach its ODP designed peak production of approximately 3,900 bopd in 2016.

Panyu 11-5 is an independent oil field in which CNOOC holds 100% interest and acts as the operator.
