CNOOC’s Weizhou 6-9/6-10 comprehensive adjustment project starts production

HONG KONG -- CNOOC’s Weizhou 6-9/6-10 comprehensive adjustment project has commenced production, the company said Monday.

Weizhou 6-9/6-10 oil field is in the Beibu Gulf, in the South China Sea, and has an average water depth of approximately 35 m.

In addition to fully utilizing the field's existing facilities, the adjustment project involved the construction of one wellhead platform. One well, which is producing about 850 bopd, is currently online. The adjustment project is expected to reach peak production, about 3,800 bopd, in 2018.

Weizhou 6-9/6-10 is an independent oil field in which CNOOC holds 100% interest and acts as the operator.
