SLB secures FEED contract from Equinor for electric subsea project on Fram Sør field offshore Norway

The Fram Sør solution will use SLB OneSubsea’s standard subsea tree design, upgraded with a fully electrified power, control and actuation system, while the elimination of high-pressure hydraulic systems will enable operators to go further and deeper, improving production and making even marginal fields more viable.

Just over half of the resources were encountered in the Middle Jurassic primary target, and the balance in the Upper Jurassic secondary target.

The country’s current daily production of about 1.2 MMboed is projected to drop to 0.7 MMboed in 2030 by industry regulator the North Sea Transition Authority. “Getting things right” and moving forward all investment opportunities currently under consideration by companies would temper that decline, meaning production in 2030 would be 0.9 MMboed, OEUK said in its Economy and People report on Tuesday.
