Perenco and its services subsidiary, Dixstone, have successfully designed and built a shallow water barge specifically for the campaign. The barge will complement Dixstone’s LUG platform, which over the past five years has delivered in excess of 16 MMboe in Cameroon.

The Hylia South West field is now producing 6,000 bopd from the HYSM-01 well, a material increase since the start of production in October 2023, less than one year after the discovery.

The integrated well construction services project is set to start in the first half of 2025 and will include drilling services, drill bits, wireline, cementing, wellbore clean up, fishing, remedial tools, fluids, services and geosciences. Baker Hughes will provide these services across three rigs over the course of the multi-year contract.

The aggregate incremental backlog associated with these fixtures is approximately $326 million. As of Feb. 14, 2024, the company’s total backlog is approximately $9 billion.

Borr Drilling Limited announced new contract commitments totaling 495 days and $82.2 million in contract revenue for three of its premium jack-up rigs.

The seven wells Exxon plans to drill are at least 100 km (62 miles) away from Venezuela’s claimed territory, Routledge said. Five are in the south-east portion of the Stabroek Block, closer to Suriname, while two are in the central section, he said.

Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. has executed a two-year contract extension with a subsidiary of bp in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico for the Ocean BlackLion, commencing in September 2024. Additionally, the company has entered into a drilling contract with Serica Energy (UK) Limited to utilize the Ocean Patriot for two plug and abandonment (P&A) wells in the U.K. North Sea.

Built in 2013, the Tungsten Explorer is designed for deep offshore drilling. With a power capacity of 42MW, thrust capacity of 33MW, the rig can operate in a wide range of meteorological conditions and has a proven track record of safe drilling operations worldwide.

The Feb. 1 “equipment incident” involved the Ocean GreatWhite drilling rig about 125 miles (200 kilometers) west of the Shetland Islands, the company said in a U.S. filing on Monday. BP is leasing the vessel through at least August. Diamond Offshore describes it on its website as “one of the world’s largest ultra-deepwater harsh environment semisubmersible” rigs.

In one contract, Talos Production Inc. awarded the West Vela a drilling contract with an estimated duration of 150 days in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.

SLB digital technologies for surface automation, autonomous on-bottom drilling, and directional drilling were combined to enable 99% of a 2.6 km section to be drilled in autonomous control mode. Over a five-well program, a 60% increase in rate of penetration was achieved, resulting in faster well delivery while reducing cost and carbon emissions.

The expected gain from the well is up to 8 MMboe, of which ca 80% is natural gas.  This well is drilled into the Jurassic with good reservoir properties, however with a wide range of subsurface outcomes with respect to volume.

The contract is anticipated to commence late in the fourth quarter 2024, following completion of the rig’s current contract with Petrobras, which is expected to finish in September 2024.
