READING, United Kingdom (Bloomberg) -- The first tanker to ship LNG from BG Group Plc’s $20.4 billion project on Australia’s east coast is due to arrive on about Dec. 20, signaling exports to Asia are set to begin. The ship, the BG-owned Methane Rita Andrea, is heading for Gladstone, in Queensland state, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. BG expects the plant, the world’s first large-scale project to turn coal-bed methane into LNG, to begin by the end of the year, the company reiterated Dec. 17.

HOUSTON -- Apache Corp. is to sell its interest in two LNG projects, Wheatstone LNG and Kitimat LNG, along with accompanying upstream oil and gas reserves, to Woodside Petroleum for a purchase price of $2.75 billion. Apache will also be reimbursed for its net expenditure in the Wheatstone and Kitimat LNG projects between June 30, 2014, and closing which is estimated to be approximately $1 billion.

READING, United Kingdom -- BG Group has agreed to sell its wholly-owned subsidiary QCLNG Pipeline Pty Ltd to APA Group, Australia's largest gas infrastructure business, for approximately $5.0 billion. QCLNG Pipeline Pty Ltd owns a 543 km, large-diameter underground pipeline network linking BG Group's natural gas fields in southern Queensland to a two-train LNG export facility at Gladstone on Australia's east coast.

ADELAIDE, Australia (Bloomberg) -- Santos Ltd. expects its $18.5 billion LNG development on the east coast of Australia to start in the second half of next year. Santos, which previously said the Gladstone LNG project in Queensland would start production at some point in 2015, expects the second unit to be ready to begin by the end of next year, the Adelaide-based company said in a statement. The project is 90% complete, it said.

Now he’s bringing his experience in U.S. shale to Australia as a board member of Tamboran Resources Ltd. “They have a lot of opportunity embedded in their assets, they just need some direction and need some capital,” Stoneburner, a managing director at New York-based investment firm Pine Brook Partners, said in a phone interview.
